1. Who we are
This policy applies to Blaze Blocker – Wildfire Home Defense ("Blaze Blocker," "we," "us," or "our"), to the website at blazeblocker.co, and to the phone, text, and email conversations that follow from it.
We are the business responsible for the information described here. Our contact details are in Section 13.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
We collect the information you choose to submit through our assessment request form, our risk-check pages, email, phone calls, or text messages. That typically includes:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number
- City or community, and the property address where work would be performed
- The services you're interested in and anything you tell us in the message field — for example your timeline, an insurer notice, or details about your roof, siding, deck, or defensible space
Information we generate during a project
If you move forward with an assessment or installation, we also create records tied to your contact information, such as site notes, photographs of the property's exterior, measurements, estimates, invoices, and completion or compliance documentation.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours records basic technical information when you visit — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and the site or search that referred you. This is used for security and to understand which pages are useful. It is not used to build advertising profiles about you.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, or financial account credentials through this website. If you pay us for work, payment is handled directly by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers or bank credentials on our systems.
3. How we use your contact information
We use the information above only for reasons connected to the service you asked about:
- To respond to you. Calling, texting, or emailing you back — normally within one business day — to answer questions and schedule a free assessment.
- To perform the work. Scheduling site visits, preparing estimates, ordering materials, coordinating crews, and completing the project at your property.
- To document the work. Producing completion certificates, CWRC compliance records, and IBHS Wildfire Prepared Home™ program paperwork you may submit to your insurer.
- To handle billing and records. Invoicing, payment, warranty claims, and required business and tax records.
- To follow up. Occasional service reminders, warranty notices, or seasonal mitigation information, where permitted and subject to your right to opt out at any time.
- To keep the site secure and to meet our legal, insurance, and licensing obligations.
4. Calls, texts, and email
When you submit your phone number through our website or give it to us on a call, you agree that we may contact you by phone call and by text message about your request, your assessment, and your project.
Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. You can stop texts at any time by replying STOP, and get help by replying HELP. You can unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any such message, or by emailing us. Opting out of marketing does not stop essential messages about work already scheduled or in progress — for those, you can ask us to switch to a different channel.
Consent to marketing messages is never a condition of getting an assessment or hiring us.
5. When we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising or trade it to lead brokers. We share it only in these situations:
- Service providers who work on our behalf. Our website host and form provider, email and text messaging platforms, scheduling and estimating software, and payment processor. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
- Subcontractors and suppliers on your project. Where a licensed subcontractor, material supplier, or inspector needs your name, address, and a contact number to complete scheduled work.
- At your direction. If you ask us to send documentation to your insurance carrier, agent, adjuster, lender, HOA, or a certification program such as IBHS, we will send it to the recipient you identify.
- Legal and safety reasons. To comply with law, a subpoena, a permit or code requirement, or to establish or defend legal claims, and to protect the rights and safety of people or property.
- Business transfer. If the business is sold or merged, customer records may transfer with it, subject to this policy.
6. Cookies and analytics
Our site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember basic preferences, and measure general traffic patterns. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies in their settings; the site will still work, though some conveniences may not. We honor recognized browser-level opt-out signals, including Global Privacy Control, where required by law.
7. How long we keep it
If you contact us and don't become a customer, we keep your inquiry only as long as it's useful to follow up on it, and then delete it. For completed projects, we retain contact information, contracts, and compliance documentation for as long as needed to support warranties, insurance documentation, and licensing, tax, and legal recordkeeping requirements. After that, records are deleted or de-identified.
8. How we protect it
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to a small contracting business: encrypted connections on our website, access limits so that only staff who need your information can reach it, and reputable vendors for messaging, scheduling, and payments. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please don't send sensitive identifiers such as Social Security or financial account numbers by email or through our forms.
9. Your choices and privacy rights
You can ask us at any time to correct your contact details, stop contacting you, or delete your information. To do that, email [email protected] or call (720) 453-8840.
Colorado residents have specific rights under the Colorado Privacy Act, and residents of other states may have comparable rights. These include the right to:
- Confirm whether we process your personal data and access it
- Correct inaccuracies
- Request deletion
- Obtain a portable copy of data you provided to us
- Opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and certain profiling — note that we do not engage in these activities
We will verify your request using the contact information we already have on file and respond within the time the law allows. There is no charge for a reasonable request. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or by contacting us using the details in Section 13; if the appeal is denied, Colorado residents may contact the Colorado Attorney General's office. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
10. Children
Our services are directed to homeowners and property owners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Links to other sites
Our site links to third-party resources such as the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control, IBHS, NFPA, and our social media pages. Those organizations have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we'll post the revised policy here and update the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be described at the top of the page.
